🌸 Up for adoption: the beautiful Alice 🌸

Alice is a gorgeous American Staffordshire Terrier mix, approximately one year old, with a sadly unknown history.

When she arrived at the shelter, Alice was very thin and extremely fearful. Despite this, over time, she has formed a wonderful bond with the staff and volunteers she interacts with regularly. Once she trusts you, she is affectionate, playful, and endearing, and she greatly enjoys the company of people she knows.

However, Alice remains very fearful of strangers. We suspect she lacked socialization when she was young, which still influences how she reacts to new situations and people.

It is important to understand that during initial encounters, Alice may be reactive. Her reactions are motivated by fear and insecurity, not by malice. She will need her space and pace respected, and she needs time to build trust. A calm, patient, and pressure-free approach will be essential for her success.

Due to her deep insecurity, Alice is not compatible with other dogs. Their presence is a significant source of stress for her, and she will be happier as the only dog in the household.

As for cats, given her strong prey drive, a cat-free home is preferred.

We are looking for an adopter for Alice with significant experience with dogs, ideally someone who has previously cared for a dog that lacked socialization or exhibited fear-related behaviors. Her future owner must have a good understanding of canine communication, be able to recognize signs of stress, and be prepared to continue her training with patience, consistency, and kindness.

Due to her needs, Alice cannot live with young children. A home composed of teenagers aged 15 and over, or adults only, is preferred.

Alice is not a dog who will trust everyone at first sight. She will require time, understanding, and a sincere commitment. In return, those who earn her trust will discover a deeply affectionate, loyal, and grateful companion.

✨ Alice isn’t looking for a perfect family. She’s looking for a family that will understand that behind her fears lies a dog who deserves to finally feel safe. ❤️✨
