Athena Is Looking for the Family Who Will Win Her Heart

Meet Athena, a beautiful 4-year-old Bengal cat who is looking for a family ready to give her the calm, presence, and love she needs.

Athena is currently having a difficult time at the shelter and is quite nervous. She was very attached to her previous owner, and all the changes have been especially unsettling for her. Behind her nervousness is a cat who can form a very strong bond with her person. Once she trusts you, Athena may very well become your little shadow and follow you everywhere around the house.

She will need a calm, stable, and predictable home, as well as a family who can be present and available to help her regain her confidence. Patience will be essential, as she needs time to adjust and understand that she is safe.

Athena is also a very vocal cat who loves communicating with her humans. With her, you can expect plenty of little conversations throughout the day!

Athena is not compatible with other cats, dogs, or children. She will need to be the only pet in the home and live in a calm environment where she can receive all of her family’s attention.

Athena is part of our Compassion Adoption Program because she must eat a specialized urinary diet for life. She also has a mild grade 1/6 heart murmur. Her future family will need to be prepared to continue her specialized diet and provide any recommended veterinary follow-ups.

Athena may not be the cat who immediately shows you her full personality, but for the person willing to give her time, presence, and plenty of love, she could become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.

She deserves to find a peaceful home where she can feel safe, rebuild her confidence, and form that special bond with her human once again.
