Meet Vera, an adorable 2-month-old female currently in a foster home. Vera is a rather shy and timid kitten around humans; she doesn’t yet enjoy being picked up or handled, and her initial instinct is usually to keep her distance.

Despite this, Vera is already making great progress! She is willing to eat right out of her foster family’s hands, sometimes licks their fingers, and has even started sleeping at the foot of the bed. These small moments show that she is capable of bonding with humans, though she will need time, patience, and plenty of gentleness to build her confidence.

Vera also gains a lot of courage from other cats. She loves playing with other kittens and seems much more confident when she can watch them and follow their lead. Having a sociable, confident cat or kitten around could therefore be very beneficial for her and help her continue making progress.

A quiet home would be best for Vera, with adults or older children who can respect her pace and let her choose when to approach them. She also seems uncomfortable around dogs, so a dog-free home would be preferable.

Vera is a sweet, curious, and playful kitten who simply wants to discover that humans can be a source of safety. She just needs to be given the time to realize this.

Since Vera is in a foster home, please make an appointment before visiting so a meeting can be arranged.
