Hi, I’m Benji! 🐾 I’m a beautiful Husky mix who is about 3 years old. Even though I’m a big boy, I’m still easily overwhelmed by everything around me. I spent my entire life in a very limited environment and have hardly ever had the opportunity to go outside, meet new people, or interact with other dogs. I therefore need to slowly learn how to discover the world and understand that all these new experiences can be positive. ❤️

I’m a rather reserved dog and I may need some time before I feel comfortable enough to show my true personality. Loud noises and sudden movements can make me nervous, especially when they’re unfamiliar to me. For this reason, a calm home with teenagers who are able to respect my space and my pace would be much more suitable for me than a family with young children.

When it comes to other dogs, I’m selective. I could potentially live with a large dog who has a calm temperament and is compatible with mine, but a meet-and-greet will be required beforehand to make sure we’re a good match. Since I’ve had very little socialization with other dogs, a slow introduction and proper management of our interactions will be essential. However, I cannot live with small dogs, cats, or small animals because I have a very strong prey drive.

Despite all the new things I still have to learn, I’m already showing that I can come out of my shell! 🥹 With the team, I needed a few days to understand that I was safe, but once I started feeling comfortable, I revealed a completely different side of my personality. I now come looking for cuddles, I enjoy playing with my toys, and I’m beginning to trust the people around me. 🧸💙 I may not be the dog who immediately runs up to you, but if you’re willing to give me the time I need, I’ll slowly show you all the love and sweetness hiding behind my shyness. All I’m looking for is a patient, understanding family who is ready to guide me as I discover this big, beautiful thing called life. 🏡🐾
