Dog-friendly • For intermediate owner • High energy • kid-friendly 12 years and older • Unknown with cats

My name is Vader! I am a 1-year-old Malinois mix looking for a family that is ready to support me through all the stages of my learning journey. I am a dog with lots of energy, but even more love to give. Once I build a bond with someone, I become a very affectionate companion. I love receiving attention, cuddles, kisses, and scratches! However, I need my space and my pace to be respected at the beginning, because trust is something that needs to be built gradually for me. Once I feel comfortable and safe, I will show you just how loving and devoted I can be.

I have a big need to move and play! I love chasing balls, playing with my toys, and sharing moments of connection with my humans. Like many dogs of my breed, I also enjoy using my mouth when I play, so I will need guidance to learn appropriate behaviors. I am still young and have many things to learn, including basic commands like “sit,” “down,” and other everyday skills. My future family will need to be ready to invest time in my training and provide me with a routine that includes both physical exercise and mental stimulation, as these are essential for me to become a balanced and happy dog.

When it comes to other dogs, I could potentially live with a canine companion. However, a pre-adoption meeting will be required to make sure we are a good match. I will need a properly managed introduction, along with environmental management and constant supervision at the beginning, so that everyone can adjust comfortably. As for cats, it is still unknown whether I would be compatible with them. A very slow and gradual introduction would be necessary, with no direct contact during the first few weeks, along with proper management to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.

Unfortunately, young children would not be the right match for me. Fast movements, sudden gestures, and loud noises can still make me uncomfortable. I would therefore do best with a family with teenagers aged 12 and older, a couple, or a single person who can provide me with a stable and reassuring environment. I am a dog full of potential who simply wants the opportunity to learn and build a strong bond with my new family. If you are ready to offer me time, patience, and lots of love, I promise to give it all back to you and more.
