Employment Type: Full-time position (40 hours/week), including every other weekend. Long-term employment. 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends.

The SPCA Roussillon is a charitable organization whose mission is to help animals in distress, without owners, or who have been neglected. We provide animal services across a territory of more than 38 municipalities in the region. We welcome families from across Quebec and neighboring provinces to our adoption center, which helped more than 2,105 animals find a home last year.
Job summary: We are looking for someone to join our team as an Animal Care Attendant. The purpose of this position is to contribute to the well-being of the cats in the shelter and to ensure the smooth operation of the department. Please note that applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Description of tasks and responsibilities:
- Follow all shelter biosecurity protocols at all times.
- Ensure that all cats in the cattery have water, food, and the necessary supplies such as bedding, toys, and clean litter.
- Ensure that all cat rooms are cleaned and maintained according to established protocols.
- Ensure that all empty enclosures are disinfected according to established protocols and are ready to receive a new cat.
- Perform laundry, cleaning, and disinfection of equipment and materials.
- Ensure the well-being of the cats.
- Observe and assess the cats’ behavior and personality.
- Record health observations for each animal and communicate important information to the medical team.
- Perform any other related duties within the scope of your responsibilities or as requested by management.
