Customer Service – Adoption Request Management

Employment Type: Part-time position including weekends (5 working days every two weeks, including every other Friday as well as weekends; other scheduling options may be discussed). Opportunity to obtain additional hours by providing vacation and leave coverage. Possibility of obtaining a position with more hours in the future. Long-term employment.

Schedule: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends.

Job Description:

  • Follow all shelter biosecurity protocols at all times.
  • Respond to emails, phone calls, messages, and voicemails.
  • Advise, inform, and support individuals throughout the adoption process.
  • Provide pre- and post-adoption guidance to adopters.
  • Review, assess, and approve adoption applications.
  • Create files for prospective adopters and ensure that their profile matches the needs of the animal concerned.
  • Manage adoption-related appointments.
  • Post animals available for adoption on the website and Facebook page.
  • Manage and update web platforms related to adoptions, including animal profiles and photos.
  • Perform any other related duties associated with your responsibilities or as requested by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Thoroughness and ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable working with animals and genuine interest in the animal welfare field.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in the animal welfare field or in a similar position (an asset).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both French and English, both verbally and in writing, in order to provide quality service to clients.
