Position Summary:
We are looking for someone to join our team as a Customer Service Receptionist. The goal of this position is to provide excellent customer service while contributing to the well-being of the animals.

Job Description:

  • Always comply with all biosafety protocols in effect at the shelter.
  • Warmly welcome citizens who come to the shelter and respond to their needs.
  • Manage the intake of animals brought in by citizens (surrenders, stray animals, trap captures, wildlife).
  • Assist citizens in the process of reclaiming their animals.
  • Guide potential adopters throughout the adoption process and complete transactions.
  • Ensure that the maintenance of cat rooms and the area dedicated to small domestic animals is carried out properly and in accordance with established protocols.
  • Update profiles of animals available for adoption.
  • Inform, supervise, and support volunteers and foster families.
  • Actively participate in maintenance, cleaning, and laundry tasks for the facilities.
  • Monitor the general health condition of cats in intake areas and report any abnormalities.
  • Stock items for sale, ensure proper presentation, and manage received donations.
  • Contribute to managing the shelter’s social media to attract new adopters and promote animals available for adoption.
  • Perform any other related tasks connected to the responsibilities of the position or requested by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Training in an animal-related field (an asset).
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Caring and respectful attitude toward all types of animals.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a similar position (an asset).
  • Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and reliability in task execution.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with domestic animals, exotic animals, and wildlife.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both French and English, orally and in writing, in order to provide quality service to both French- and English-speaking clients.
