Adopt an animal

1. Fill out an application form on our website according to the type of animal you would like to adopt.

2. Our team will contact you to make an appointment

A member of our adoption team will contact you as soon as possible to follow up on your request. You will be advised according to your profile.

Adoption hours:
Monday to Friday – 12pm to 9pm
Saturday and Sunday – 10am to 5pm

*We receive a very large amount of requests. They will be answered based on the order of receipt and the quality of the responses. You will be contacted if your application is approved.

*No animal reservation is possible until the adoption is confirmed in order to maximize the chances of placing our animals in good families.

3. Visit at the shelter

The visit is a time for you to meet our animals, and for our team to go more in depth with certain aspects of your adoption request in order to ensure that the adoption is a success. If the visit is positive, we will proceed with the adoption at the shelter and you will go home with your new companion!

Signing of the adoption contract

Payment of adoption fees (cards preferred)

Purchase of a food bag (mandatory for cats and dogs)

Safe departure of the animal in a carrier (cat, exotic) or on a leash (dog)

Possibility of purchasing certain basic items in our store (litter, transporter, etc.)

CATS

  • Kittens 6 months old and less: $280
  • Cats over 6 months old: $235
  • Senior cats 7+ years old (Grey Muzzle Mission): $160
  • Compassionate adoption: $160

The fees include: Veterinary examination | Sterilization | Basic vaccines and dewormers (preventive) | Microchip | 30 Day Limited Health Guarantee | Petsecure Insurance (6 weeks)

EXOTIC ANIMALS

  • Rabbit: $105
  • Guinea pig (female): $15
  • Guinea pig (male – neutered): $50
  • Rat: $10
  • Compassionate adoption for a rabbit: $50
  • Others: contact us for the adoption fees for other species of exotic animals

The fees include: Veterinary examination | Sterilization (male and female rabbits AND male guinea pigs) | Preventive deworming | Preventive vaccine against Hemorrhagic disease (rabbits) | Microchip (rabbits)

DOGS

  • Puppy 6 months old and less: $520
  • Dog more than 6 months old: $415
  • Senior dog 7+ years old (Grey Muzzle Mission): $215
    *Except dogs from the Northern Paw program*
  • Compassionate adoption: $215

The fees include: Veterinary examination | Sterilization | Basic vaccines and dewormer (preventive) | Microchip | 30 Day Limited Health Guarantee | Petsecure Insurance (6 weeks)

CATS for ADOPTION

There is nothing like a visit in our adoption catteries to let our adult cats introduce themselves! You can check out the profile of some of our available cats below, but keep in mind that we have several more at the shelter.

Our adoption team assesses adoption forms and contacts the families selected to make an appointment.

Due to the large amount of inquiries we receive:

We will only answer requests that have good potential to match the needs of our animals.

Requests will be answered based on the order of receipt and the quality of the answers.

Requests are valid for 1 month.

Most of our exotic animals are placed with foster families while awaiting adoption. Once your adoption request has been sent, our exotic animals team will contact you to explain next steps.

The program continues with the same goal of raising awareness and funding for animal shelter partners across Canada.​
